Marie Rivière is a frequent cast member in the films of Eric Rohmer. In 1978, she made her feature debut in his "Perceval le Gallois", a poetic adventure drama set in medieval times. Her first leading role was as the wife of a jealous young student in "La Femme de l'Aviateur", the first of six films in Rohmer's series known as Comédies et proverbes. In her documentary "En compagnie d'Eric Rohmer" Rohmer himself talks to artists such as Arielle Dombasle, Fabrice Luchini, Andy Gillet, François Ozon, Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, Rosette and Noémie Lvovsky about their relationship to him as a director and as a friend.
